Marco Island is the largest island out of all of Florida’s ten thousand islands. Located just thirty minutes from Naples, it is best known for its white sandy beaches and relaxing ambiance. It is the southernmost island on the southwest coast of Florida. While enjoying dinner at one of the many restaurants Marco Island has to offer, you may even spot a dolphin playing in the water.
The beaches on Marco Island offer soft sand and warm water year-round – a true paradise even in the winter months. There are plenty of fun activities to keep you busy on Marco Island:
Visit the Esplanade Shoppes and enjoy a bite to eat at CJ’s on the Bay for the freshest seafood around. Other options include Mango’s Dockside Bistro, Tara Steak and Lobster House, Starbucks and Cold Stone Creamery for dessert. No matter what you’re craving, you can find it at a restaurant on Marco Island.
Golfing is a popular pastime for Marco Island residents and visitors alike. Below is a list of all of the golf courses in the area:
Island Country Club – Private
Hideaway Beach Golf Course – Private
Hammock Bay – Private
The Golf Club At Fiddler’s Creek – Public
Lely Resort Golf & Country Club, Flamingo Island Course – Public
Lely Resort Golf & Country Club, Mustang Course – Public
Marco Island may seem like one big community from first glance, but every neighborhood on the island has a unique set of characteristics.
Cape Marco – A gated community of six luxury condominiums on the southwestern corner of Marco Island.
Hideaway Beach Club – This gated community is at the northwest corner of the island and offers a unique golf and country club atmosphere. Unlike many other Marco Island communities, there are no canal homes in Hideaway. All of the single-family homes are either inland or beachfront. The homes overlook the beach and Isles of Capri and there is an executive golf course in the community.
Key Marco – The gated community of Key Marco offers grand homes with water views, a clubhouse and marina facility. This is the newest development on the island. The minimum home size is 3,000 square feet.
The Estates – This community encompasses every want and need in a luxury home with large lots, flawless architecture and incredible views.
The River Area – This neighborhood is characterized by the large water-direct lots that are a mix of old and new homes.
The South End – This community is a boating-driven community. Everything is water-direct and most of the luxury homes and condos are within walking distance to the beach.
