Southwest Florida’s Beaches

Southwest Florida contains some of the world’s most renowned beaches. Our beaches are consistently ranked among the best in the world. The sugary sand, 80-degree temperatures, and turquoise waters combined with the quality of life and parks make Southwest Florida beaches one of a kind.

Let’s take a deep dive into some of the best beaches in Southwest Florida including Barefoot Beach, Bonita Beach, Bonita Springs, Naples Waterfront, Marco Island, and Fort Myers Beach.

Barefoot Beach

Barefoot beach is 342 acres of natural land where you can walk along the beach and find sand dollars, spot bottle-nosed dolphins and enjoy beautiful ocean views. Kayaking is popular on the inland side of the beach with the mangrove swamps and tidal creeks. You can also rent canoes at the Barefoot Beach concession. It’s easy to get to Barefoot Beach, but it makes you feel worlds away from the hustle and bustle of the city and is one of the last undeveloped barrier islands on Florida’s southwest coast.

Bonita Beach

Bonita Beach’s name describes it perfectly – beautiful. The serene blue water, soft sand and quiet ambiance makes it a true escape in Southwest Florida. Instead of a beach lined with hotels and resorts, you’ll find an upscale beach community with condominiums and plenty of beautiful beachfront homes among sea grapes, coconut palms and plenty of other lush tropical plants. If you enjoy hunting for seashells, there are plenty to pick up at Bonita Beach to add to your collection.

Bonita Springs Beach

Bonita Springs Beach offers magnificent views, soft and clean sand and amenities such as showers. The beach is quiet, serene and has a gentle surf. Make sure to stop by Doc’s Beach House for food and drinks with a view of the stunning ocean. If you’d like to make your own food, there are plenty of grills to fry up some barbeque – just remember to bring your own coals. Other activities you can enjoy at Bonita Springs Beach are shell collecting, paddle boarding, jet skiing and of course swimming in the ocean.

Naples Waterfront

Naples beaches are seven miles of white sand that cusp on the beautiful turquoise water of the Gulf of Mexico. There are numerous access points to the beach and a beach patrol that ensures visitors are safe and that the beach is kept clean and beautiful. The pier offers ideal fishing and an up close view of the water. Shell collecting is encouraged. Naples is one of the most quaint and peaceful beaches in all of Southwest Florida and is a great spot to bring family for a day in the Florida sun.

Marco Island

Marco Island is the largest island in all of Florida’s ten thousand islands. The beach is known for being mystical and alluring with white sand beaches and a laidback feel. There’s a good chance you’ll see dolphins playing in the water. There are also plenty of restaurants with fresh seafood and spectacular ocean views. Enjoy great fishing and plenty of incredible wildlife without dealing with a crowded shore.

Fort Myers Beach

Fort Myers beach is located on Estero Island, a seven-mile coastline that has family-friendly resorts, cozy cottages and plenty of fresh seafood from the Gulf of Mexico. There is an annual Shrimp Festival that locals and visitors love. Explore Lovers Key State Park for an invigorating bike ride or take a hike through broadleaf forest. You can also fish or go kayaking alongside the incredible manatees. Fort Myers is one of the most popular beaches in all of Florida for its incredibly wide array of activities and space to enjoy.

Southwest Florida offers some of the most beautiful beaches in all of the Sunshine State. From the quaint and cozy beaches like Bonita Springs Beach to the more popular beaches like Fort Myers Beach, there are plenty of places to enjoy the beauty of the Gulf of Mexico. We invite you to visit one or all of these stunning naturally beautiful places.
